ACT I: The Journey to the WaterScene 1: The Clover Field(Setting: A bright green field of clovers. The morning sun is rising.)CLARA enters, high-stepping and leading her goslings in a line.CLARA: Honk-honk! Almost there, darlings! Keep those feet up and hats on!KYLIE hops excitedly, nearly bumping into Clara.KYLIE: Can I dive in, Mama? I’m going to do the biggest cannonball ever!RILEY stops to stare at a dragonfly on the edge of the stage. MYLIE nudges him forward.MYLIE: Keep moving, Riley! You’re slowing down the parade. Look—the pond!
Scene 2: The Muddy Bank(Setting: The edge of a shimmering blue pond.)The group reaches the water. CLARA strikes a pose.CLARA: Last one in is a... well, you know! ALL GOSLINGS: A SILLY GOOSE! (Sound: Three loud SPLASHES. The yellow goslings disappear behind the "water" set piece and pop back up, bobbing like corks.)
ACT II: Secrets of the Lily PatchScene 1: The "Fish City" Underwater(Setting: A dense patch of large green lily pads and pink flowers.)KYLIE: Look! Giant green pancakes! I’m gonna hop on one! MYLIE: Better not! Those are for frogs. We are far too heavy. RILEY drifts away, mesmerized by something below the surface.RILEY: (Whispering) Kylie... Mylie... look. There’s wiggly shiny things down here. (The silver MINNOW puppets dart across the water. KYLIE dunks her head under and pops back up giggling.)KYLIE: They’re fast and playing hide and seek. And they tickle!
Scene 2: The Golden King(Setting: A mossy, half-sunken log.)CLARA leads them to a log where a shiny gold figure of a frog sits.CLARA: Your Majesty, King Kroaker! You are shining brightly today. KING KROAKER: (Regally) Ahem! Who disturbs the Royal Meal Time? Oh, it’s you, Clara. My valet, Mr. TUG, is being quite difficult to deal with today. (The log begins to vibrate. TUG the turtle pokes his head out with a lily pad on his head.)TUG: Is it Tuesday? I specifically asked for no visitors. Are these... fuzzy rubber ducks? RILEY: We’re not ducks, Mr. Tugboat! We’re geese! I’m Riley. Do you like baseball?
ACT III: The Sunken TreasureScene 1: The Dive(Setting: A patch of shimmering sand at the pond's edge. The light is now brighter.)KYLIE: Mama, look! Something shiny is at the bottom! KING KROAKER: Perhaps it is my Royal Scepter? I lost it in the Great Cricket Swarm of ’02! CLARA: Kylie, you’re the best diver and swimmer. Go see! (KYLIE dives "underwater." She returns with a gold coin and a golden stick.)
Scene 2: The Royal RewardKING KROAKER: My scepter! (He waves the scepter. The gold coin is magically replaced by four gold medals with purple ribbons.)KING KROAKER: For saving my scepter, I award you these Royal Medals for "Good Deeds Done"! TUG: (Yawning) Gold medals? I wanted lettuce. Can we go home now? CLARA: Yes, Tug. Tomorrow, we’ll bring you a whole truckload of lettuce! (The parade waddles off-stage as the sun sets. KING KROAKER waves a tiny hand from the top of TUG’S head.)CLARA: Honk-honk, my little adventurers. We’ll come back tomorrow. (FADE OUT) Curtain closes.

She makes quest appearances on popular children's TV shows. Clara Goose is a cousin to the famous "Clarence Goose" from PBS TV children's television show Barney and Friends.

Clara's Background
Clara was born in the year 2000, a millennium gosling. Clarissa (Clara) La Goosette traveled a lot as a young girl goose, because her parents, Gaston and Gretchen La Goosette, were in the Air Force's IGD. (Inteligent Goose Division). She grew up and attended Washington College, who’s mascot is a goose…”Gus Goose” (George Washington's goose). She graduated with a major in Theater and Dance with a minor in Music, growing into a multifaceted storyteller and performer. An actor, singer and musician, Clara Goose has it all.
Clara performs many goose roles. Her favorite is Mother Goose! She loves acting out the Nursery Rhymes, lacing them with stories, song, music and dance! After all, she is a young mod mama goose herself, with three young goslings of her own…Riley, Milie and Kylie. Clara is married to aclaimed Film and TV Director, Gerald "Garry" Goose.
While Clara loves her performance gigs, she has her practical side and works as a hostess on AA ACE Airlines, where she attends guest as they fly from the Americas to Europe and back. AA ACE is a Charter Airline that treats their customers to a “party in the air”! That’s why Clara was hired to become an AA ACE airline hostess. Clara speaks five langauges! She is a remarkable high octane entertainer with lots of high flying tales to tell!

Clara the Goose is an original puppet designed by puppeteer and production designer, Jess Nelson. Clara Goose's Rhyme Time is a Chidren's TV video on-line production that is produced by Jess Nelson Studios. It is under construction now. The production puppeteers are Jess Nelson, Ray Henry and Charles Bailey. All Clara Goose materials are the intellectual property of Jess Nelson Studios. All traditional Mother Goose materials are part of the public domain.
In the 19th century, multiple editions of Mother Goose rhymes were published. The MOTHER GOOSE’S NURSERY RHYMES we know today come from two main sources: a book published in France in 1697 and a book published in England in about 1765.
"Children entering kindergarten would have better speech habits, and first-grade children would have a greater power with and feeling for words if more were done with Mother Goose in the homes. Knowing dozens of the verses expands the imagination, increases the vocabulary, and develops an ear for the music of words. Enjoying Mother Goose predisposes children to other books" (May Hill Arbuthnot, of Flora Stone Mather College, Western Reserve University from her book "Children and Books," 1947)

"Academics dispute this view, pointing to the important role listening to nursery rhymes, and in many cases watching the accompanying actions, can have in language acquisition. 'The general public may see reading as a primarily visual process,' said Roger Beard, professor of primary education at the Institute of Education at the University of London. 'But actually the ability to listen and discriminate between sounds in the language is an important predictor of children's later success in learning to read, and of course rhymes can play an important part in that.'"
